Art After Dark: Vivid

On Saturday, April 9, 2011, close to 300 guests attended the sixth Art After Dark party to support the award-winning Education at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. This favolosa fundraiser to celebrate art, fashion, and fun was inspired by the Roberto Capucci: Art into Fashion exhibition, on view through June 5th.

Italian flavor infused performances, dinner, dessert, and dancing as guests partied the night away in the Museum's main building. Catered by STARR Events, dinner included modern favorites. Sleek furniture created comfortable lounge areas, while colorfully dressed mannequins, provided by Saks Fifth Avenue, offered plenty to capture one’s attention.

Art After Dark’s first-ever Live Auction, featuring Sotheby’s auctioneer Courtney Booth, was a great success. Lucky bidders took home amazing packages, including “Phillies Phever,” “Live from New York,” A Night at the Museum,” “Fashion Forward,” and “Under the Tuscan Sun!”

The spectacular evening culminated with an aerial act performing above the Great Stair Hall, after which guests enjoyed dessert, including an 8-foot high, Capucci inspired artisan cake and other goodies—all served on the “skirts” of live models—created by Chef Robert Bennett, Executive Pastry Chef of Classic Cake.

Your participation in Art After Dark helps maintain and expand educational opportunities at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Proceeds benefit the Museum’s Education department which serves individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities from throughout the region, across the country, and around the world.
