$20 per event or $35 for series.

A two part Members-only series that takes you behind the scenes on the triumphant return of Thomas Eakins’s The Gross Clinic to the Museum’s newly reinstalled American art galleries.

Part 1: Meet the conservator, Mark Tucker, The Aronson Senior Conservator of Paintings and Vice Chair of Conservation, inside the conservation lab to learn about the milestone conservation treatment he performed on a work regarded as the most important American painting of the nineteenth century.

Part 2: See how it all comes together as you sit in the gallery itself and unlock the puzzles of The Gross Clinic and the diverse selection of paintings, sculptures, and decorative art objects that were chosen to surround it. The Museum looks forward to introducing you to our newly appointed Assistant Director for Interpretation, Josh Helmer, who is sure to share insights on the collection that you thought you knew so well as he leads a private gallery discussion about the reinstallation.
