The Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show is recognized as the nation’s most prestigious, juried exhibition and sale of contemporary American craft. Presented by The Women’s Committee and Craft Show Committee of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Craft Show is the single largest fundraiser for the Museum. Proceeds support educational programs, exhibitions, and fund purchases of art and contemporary craft for the permanent collection. To date the committee has raised over $10.5 million for the Museum. This premier show and sale of contemporary craft, now in its 38th year, includes 195 of the finest craft artists in the United States. The Committee continues to innovate by introducing new artists to the Show. At the Show each year there are daily artist demonstrations ranging from wood turning to knife-honing; how to tie a scarf and how to felt wool; how to weave basketry and how to create knitwear.
