Art of the Joseon Dynasty: Treasures from the National Museum of Korea (scheduled to open in the spring of 2014) is the first major exhibition of works of art from the entire span of Korea’s Joseon dynasty, which reigned from 1392 through 1910. This exhibition of one of the world’s longest dynasties will include some 120 objects in various media. Join us for a preview with Hyunsoo Woo, the Maxine and Howard Lewis Associate Curator of Korean Art, and start brainstorming ideas for your classrooms.

Tours gather in Museum's West Entrance
Please note that tours are weather dependant and will not take place in excessive heat or rain. Moderate walking is involved.

Take a stroll around the Museum and into the new Anne d’Harnoncourt Memorial Sculpture Garden to explore some of its outdoor artwork and landscape views. This one-acre site hosts two gallery areas, which currently contain the stone sculptures of Isamu Noguchi. The plantings along the lawns and terraces contain trees, shrubs, and perennials that support local wildlife and bloom at various seasons.
