The Dormition of the Virgin

Attributed to Miquel Alcanyís (Spanish (active Valencia and Mallorca), active 1408–1447) Formerly attributed to Marçal de Sas, Andrés (German (active Spain), c. 1394–1410)
This painting, still in its original frame, was once part of a small altarpiece that consisted of three panels, called a triptych. The second panel, which illustrates the Nativity, is also in the Museum's collection. The third panel, which depicts the Annunciation, is in a museum in Zaragoza, Spain.
