Attributed to Miquel Alcanyís, Spanish (active Valencia and Mallorca), active 1408 - 1447. Formerly attributed to Marçal de Sas, Andrés, German (active Spain), c. 1394 - 1410.
This painting, still in its original frame, was once part of a small altarpiece that consisted of three panels, called a triptych. The second panel, which illustrates the Nativity, is also in the Museum's collection. The third panel, which depicts the Annunciation, is in a museum in Zaragoza, Spain.
