The Secret

Modeled 1910; cast 1925
Auguste Rodin (French, 1840–1917) Cast by the founder Alexis Rudier, Paris (1874–1952)

The Secret is considered a companion piece to The Cathedral. In both works, the space between the hands is meaningful and mysterious. Here, an unknown object separates two palms, keeping them forever apart but close enough to graze fingertips.
