LabelThis purple-speckled, fluted dish represents one of the finest products made by the potters of Rotterdam. The speckling technique found on the triple border is produced by striking a knife against a bristle brush wetly filled with manganese paint. The white thumbprint at the lower left occurred during the loading of the kiln, when a helper carelessly picked up the dish while the glaze was still wet.
