Coffeepot

1928
Designed by Erik Magnussen (Danish, 1884–1961) Made by Gorham Manufacturing Company, Providence, Rhode Island (1831–present)
Silver objects made in the United States during the late 1920s and 1930s were mostly traditional in style, although a few manufacturers catered to what was called “modernistic” taste. This coffeepot created by Erik Magnussen for Gorham exhibits an abstraction of traditional form.
