Morhange were imported to many notable American stores such as John Wanamaker. The firm, one of Paris's twenty premier couture houses at the beginning of the twentieth century, exhibited at the World's Columbian Exhibition in Chicago in 1893 and the Exposition Universelle of Paris in 1900. In this ensemble, an embroidered wool Persian or Indian shawl has been inventively refashioned into a dress. The house creatively incorporated trimmings such as cotton and metallic thread lace.
