LabelA water dropper was an essential utensil for a literati man of the Joseon dynasty (1392-1910). It was used to add water, by small drops, to an inkstone while grinding an ink stick. This example is unusually accentuated with cobalt blue, iron oxide brown, and copper red pigments under the glaze.* Works in the collection are moved off view for many different reasons. Although gallery locations on the website are updated regularly, there is no guarantee that this object will be on display on the day of your visit. |
