Stool

Designed 2002
Designed by Jasper Morrison (British, born 1959) Made by Moooi B.V., Breda, Netherlands (2001–present)
Morrison created this cork stool in response to European winegrowers' use of plastic instead of traditional corks to seal their bottles. He designed the stool as "a giant cork of my own." Morrison initially wanted to produce the stool by molding the cork, but this process proved too expensive. In the end, the stool was cut from a block of cork that was then shaped on a lathe.
