19th century; cyclical date 1842?
Artist/maker unknown, Korean
This high-footed dish is a prototype of a Joseon dynasty ritual food vessel. Korean households still use such dishes for their ancestral rites today. However, they are often made of wood or brass, which are more affordable than porcelain.
