From the series Aliquot aedificio ad graecor romanorumque morem extructorum schemata (Vicenza: Cristoforo dall'Acqua, c. 1767-70)
Attributed to Gianfrancesco Costa, Italian, 1711 - 1772
A little-known etcher, Gianfrancesco Costa created a series of prints of views outside the city of Venice, portraying the villas of Venetian nobles built along the Brenta River. He is also credited with producing a series of unsigned capricci scenes, one of which is shown here.
