Made by Rörstrand Fabriks, Stockholm, founded 1726
The Rörstrand factory, which previously had won medals at the International Exhibitions in Paris (1867) and Vienna (1873), was the major ceramic exhibitor in the Swedish section at the Centennial Exposition in Philadelphia in 1876. This plaque was purchased at the Centennial and remains in the Museum's permanent collections.
