Tea Caddy

Attributed to Shunkei Toshiro (Japanese, active 16th to early 17th century)
Of the square-shouldered (katatsuki) type, this tea caddy has a fitted lacquer box as well as two cloth bags for when it is stored. Tea caddies are used to hold the powdered green tea for the tea ceremony.
