Jean-Henri Riesener (German (active Paris), 1734–1806)
A particular favorite of Marie-Antoinette (queen of France 1774–93), Jean-Henri Riesener was appointed ébéniste du roi, or cabinetmaker to the king, in 1774, and in the next decade made over seven hundred pieces of furniture for the crown.
