Camille Pissarro (French, 1830–1903)

At the end of the nineteenth century black-and-white etching enjoyed a renaissance in France. Pissarro, like many of the painter-printmakers in Paris at the time, used Rembrandt's prints as a model, adopting the intimate scale and subject matter of the Dutch master's works.
