LabelHector Guimard was one of the most important architect-designers of the Art Nouveau style, perhaps best known for the entrances he created for the Paris subway system. Like many architects of the Art Nouveau period, his goal was to create environments that were total works of art; his building designs included not just the architecture but the interiors as well, including floor and wall coverings, light fixtures, door and window hardware, fireplaces, and furniture.
