The Five Great Kings of the Lamaist Pantheon are shown here. In the center is Pehar, chief of the kings, who protects the treasures of the Samye monastery and the wealth of whoever seeks his aid. Above his head is the figure of Tsongkhapa, founder of the Gelukpa (Yellow Cap) Order of Lamaism. The four other kings are shown in the corners.
