This woman's voluptuous body is composed of delicate, calligraphic lines and color washes. Close inspection of her face reveals subtle shading realized through the layering of fine brushstrokes. The highly saturated blue pigment and the meandering vines that wind throughout the composition, however, were likely later additions. They match the designs in the page's borders, which were done when the image was mounted for inclusion in an album.
