This scroll painting depicts a banquet for four of the Dharmapalas, defenders of Buddhist Law. From left to right, they are Yama, Yamantaka, Mahakala, and Kuvera. They are shown as bodiless presences in full armor, carrying their symbols and attributes, surrounded by myriad scenes, deities, and symbols that are connected with the banquet.
