LabelKent made this print as an invitation to a party given in his honor by the Random House publishers in celebration of his contributions to their illustrated books. As the martini glasses and shaker in the print suggest, this “so-called tea” was in fact a cocktail party, thrown during the years when the consumption of alcohol was banned in the United States. |
