Windows

1899
Designed by William L. Price (American, 1861–1916)
William Price designed these windows, part of a set of seven, for the Merion, Pennsylvania, estate of snuff magnate John O. Gilmore. Gilmore was an avid hunter and the images Price depicted (here, a falcon and powder horn) would have been appropriate for the estate’s stable. Price was a prominent Philadelphia architect and the founder of the Arts and Crafts community Rose Valley, located just outside Philadelphia, for which Gilmore provided financial backing.
