Designed by James Galanos (American, 1924–2016) Embroidered by D. Getson, Eastern Embroidery, Los Angeles

The model for this evening dress was shown by Galanos at the Coty Hall of Fame award presentation in 1959, at which the designer was recognized together with Pauline Trigère. The gown features two of Galanos's signature details: a voluminous thirty-six yard chiffon skirt and a bead-embroidered bodice. The dress retailed for $1,300.
