This armor is composed of elements from several similar suits--some designed for the field and others for the joust--that are now scattered among various public collections.
It is struck with the maker's mark of Anton Peffenhauser, who was the leading armorer of the important armor-making center of Augsburg during the second half of the sixteenth century.
