By inheritance to the artist's son Michel Jacques Monet (1878-1966), Sorel-Moussel, Normandy, France [1]. With Wildenstein & Co., New York, by 1951 [2]. Charlotte Dorrance Wright (1911-1977) and William Coxe Wright (d. 1970), St. Davids, PA, 1953, until his d. 1970; Charlotte Dorrance Wright; bequest to PMA, 1978. 1. Daniel Wildenstein, Monet: catalogue raisonné, vol. 2, Cologne, 1996, no. 810. Since Monet did not leave a will, his son inherited his entire estate. 2. A label on the back of the painting contains the address of Wildenstein & Co. in New York with the date 5 October 1951.
