"Falkland" Lamp

Designed 1964
Designed by Bruno Munari (Italian, 1907–1998) Made from 1964 by Danese Milano, Bruno Danese SNC, Milan, Italy (1957–present)
A self-taught artist, designer, and creator of games, toys, and picture books for children, Bruno Munari was among the earliest designers employed by the influential Italian manufacturer Danese. Through his work, Munari attempted to bridge the gap between art and industrial design, and his "Falkland" lamp-an undulating, suspended column of light-functions as both sculpture and lighting fixture.
