Born in Philadelphia, Albert Paley received both his BFA and MFA from Tyler School of Art, where he studied with Stanley Lechtzin. During his graduate studies there Paley began researching the manipulation of iron for his artwork. Initially applying it to his jewelry (see the brooch on view), Paley now works in ferrous metals primarily for outdoor sculpture, architectural elements, and furniture, as seen in this plant stand.
