Woman's Kimono (Kosode)

The design on this small-sleeved garment includes a koto, the board game go (a game of strategy), and examples of scroll painting and calligraphy. This grouping follows a tradition in China that refers to these four arts as the "four accomplishments" of a Chinese scholar.
