Colonel Mordaunt's Cock Match

1792
Richard Earlom (English, 1743–1822) After a painting of c. 1786-1790 by Johann Joseph Zoffany (British (born Germany), 1733–1810)
This narrative portrait depicts a contest between fighting cocks owned by Colonel Mordaunt and the Nawab Wazir of Oudh, Asaf-ud-daula, who are seen facing each other with outstretched arms. The scene includes not just the leading British residents of Lucknow, India, but also a throng of Indian musicians, dancing girls, and curious bystanders.
