LabelThis vase, one of the largest in Etruscan Ware produced at Wedgwood, is a copy of an Apulian (South Italian) volute-krater dated circa 330-310 BCE that was in collection of Sir William Hamilton. An identical Wedgwood vase is today in the collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. The monumental vessels may have been produced for display in the Wedgwood factory's London showrooms.* Works in the collection are moved off view for many different reasons. Although gallery locations on the website are updated regularly, there is no guarantee that this object will be on display on the day of your visit. |
