"Ikebana" Speaker

Designed 1989
Designed by Satoru Hibino (Japanese, born 1951) Made by the Yamaha Corporation, Hamamatsu, Japan
Satoru Hibino’s playful concept for speakers as a futuristic flower arrangement was one of the winning designs for Yamaha’s competition to "think outside the black box." Each of the three speakers produce a different tone, one high, one medium, and one low. The black "stems" of the colorful flowers can be bent in any direction to achieve the desired sound.
