The Bär + Knell design firm began working with the German national recycling agency in 1992 in an effort to put the colorful plastic material that was being collected from German households to creative use. The brightly colored furniture they created was molded from plastic packaging and each piece is essentially one of a kind. The Museum's chair was made using plastic bags from the gigantic Swiss retailer Migros.
