As the Technology Coordinator for the Penn Alexander School in Philadelphia (which partners with the University of Pennsylvania), Nancy Matlack has moved through several teaching positions, growing and evolving together with the computer technology she currently manages.

A main component of the preschool program at Beginnings Learning Center, on South 10th Street in Philadelphia, involves a coordinated effort among the Center's art teacher, Erin Young, the literacy teacher, Jeff Rahman, and the music and movement teacher, Liv Helgesen.

Currently in her fortieth year of teaching, Emily Farrell is one of the most experienced Language Arts teachers at Strath Haven High School in the Wallingford-Swarthmore School District. She teaches eleventh grade English – with the addition of elective classes such as Creative Writing and her long-standing sponsorship of the school’s literary magazine. Her honors include selections as 2002’s Teacher of the Year for both Delaware County Wal Mart and Borders in Concordville, but she is particularly proud of the professional publications of her students’ writing. Her students’ work has appeared in The Philadelphia Inquirer, House and Garden Magazine, Parade Magazine, and The Wall Street Journal.

Lisa Winkler, one of Collingswood Public School’s art teachers, currently teaches middle and high school classes. With an undergraduate degree in Photography from Syracuse University, New York, Lisa enrolled in the University of the Arts, Philadelphia, earning a degree in Art Education in 2000. During this time, she also worked for Life Magazine, arranging the sale of fine art prints from Life’s extensive photo archives.
