School tours of select Museum exhibitions allow students a unique opportunity to experience works of art only on view for a limited time. Current and upcoming exhibitions include:
- Arshile Gorky: A Retrospective
Wednesday, October 21, 2009 - Sunday, January 10, 2010- School tours of this exhibition are offered to grades 7–12 Tuesday and Thursday mornings.
- Picasso and the Avant-Garde in Paris
Wednesday, February 24, 2010 - Sunday, April 25, 2010- School tours of this exhibition are offered to grades K–12 on Mondays between 9:40 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. when the Museum is closed to the general public. Tours are approximately eighty minutes. There are reduced admission rates for students and the required number of chaperones. A limited number of Philadelphia public school students will receive free admission thanks to a grant from the Young Friends of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
- The Platinum Process: Photographs from the Nineteenth to the Twenty-First Century
Monday, March 1, 2010 - Tuesday, June 1, 2010- School tours of this exhibition are offered to grades 9–12 Tuesday–Friday mornings. Tours are approximately one hour.
