Every Family Party 2011
Wild About Art!Thanks to everyone who attended this SOLD OUT event! Over 1,000 people “went wild” with us at the fourteenth annual Every Family Party, Philadelphia’s premier family event! With a theme borrowed from a child’s imagination—Wild About Art!—the Museum’s youngest visitors and their adults explored nature’s relationship with art. Creative art-making activities, special performances, kid-friendly snacks, and music and dancing offered something for everyone! All proceeds from the Every Family Party benefit the Museum's innovative Education Department, which has developed nationally and internationally recognized programs for children, families, adult learners, and special audiences alike. They also offer options for teachers to bring the arts to life in their classroom through Museum lesson plans and teaching posters, distance learning, or hands-on art activities with a visiting studio instructor. These educational programs are based on the philosophy that art is a powerful and versatile tool that can have a tremendous impact on the lives of children and how they live in and perceive the world.
Every Family Party 2010: Opposites
November 13, 2010 Surrounded by the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s treasures, more than 1,000 guests enjoyed dinner and dancing in the Great Stair Hall; making art projects like diptychs in the European Art galleries; stained glass windows amongst works of Impressionism; and a communal art project inspired by the concept of “LoveDifference” from the Michelangelo Pistoletto: From One to Many exhibition. Storytellers, glow sticks, real pieces of armor, and carnival mirrors made other galleries come alive, and there was even a Peace & Quiet reading room for those who were having a little too much fun! Over 250 children were invited to attend the event at no cost due to the generosity of donors who underwrote tickets for those who could not afford them. PNC Arts Alive provided presenting sponsorship for this event.
