Drawing Sounds: An Installation by William Anastasi in Honor of John Cage
August 28, 1993 - September 9, 1993
William Anastasi has organized an installation of sixteen drawings which are exhibited along with recordings of the sounds that accompanied
and were created by the drawing process. Based on the late composer John Cage's explorations of art created through random occurrence, each
of the paired drawings and recordings were created by a friend or associate of Cage. The installation makes use of the element of chance in
determining composition, and highlights the interrelated senses of sight and sound. The exhibition is taking place in a small gallery off the
Great Stair Hall.
