"In arranging my new apartment I see your paintings again with so much pleasure.... There's such a note of truth, of real countryside in each one."
Letter to van Gogh from his brother Theo, Paris, March 16, 1889
"I've looked most attentively at your works since we parted; first at your brother's and then at the Independents exhibition. I offer you my sincere compliments, and for many artists you are the most remarkable in the exhibition. With things from nature you are the only one there who thinks."
Letter to van Gogh from artist Paul Gauguin, Paris, March 20, 1890

I really like the texture and how the painting looked like sculptures. The colors were also very vivid. My favorite painting has to be the one that van Gogh gave to his nephew.

This exhibit was very beautiful. I really liked the Almond tree painting, the colors were very pretty. I love Starry Night, which is at the MoMA museum in New York. I love his style of painting, the way he really showed the brush strokes in his work. He used great colors and lots of blues and greens. Thank you!

I really liked the flower's it was really pretty and it had many details a person doesn't really notice at first but you have to look really carefully to notice it.

Great museum aside from the people who know nothing of art or what a good activity with their kids would be, this is not one.

Seeing in person is so important in this exhibit. Looking at pictures just doesn't do justice to the depth of the painting. The use of texture is so deep and integral in the experience of seeing the art. What a great show!!!

Seeing Van Gogh's paintings up close was such a privilege. Photographs of his works just DO NOT do them justice. I loved seeing his vivid colors, long brushstrokes, and thickly-applied paint that almost adds a 3D aspect. The experience was captivating! I can't wait to go again!

The audio recording made the exhibit interesting and informative. It was also well organized by type of painting and was easy to follow.

The paintings were nice but there should have been an interactive feature besides the audio tour.
