"In arranging my new apartment I see your paintings again with so much pleasure.... There's such a note of truth, of real countryside in each one."
Letter to van Gogh from his brother Theo, Paris, March 16, 1889
"I've looked most attentively at your works since we parted; first at your brother's and then at the Independents exhibition. I offer you my sincere compliments, and for many artists you are the most remarkable in the exhibition. With things from nature you are the only one there who thinks."
Letter to van Gogh from artist Paul Gauguin, Paris, March 20, 1890

This was a fantastic exhibit! I am now intrigued with learning more about van Gogh as an artist as well as his inner thoughts and troubles. I would recommend this tour to anyone.

There should be a separate line for those of us who neither need nor want headphones. Like airlines that make it possible for people with only carry-ons to bypass the lines with those checking baggage. The paintings were knockouts!

Van Gogh is an inspired artist and this exhibition was wonderful. Absolutely loved the set up of the galleries from Grass-centered paintings to landscapes to the Tree-focused gallery. Well done, curators!
