"In arranging my new apartment I see your paintings again with so much pleasure.... There's such a note of truth, of real countryside in each one."
Letter to van Gogh from his brother Theo, Paris, March 16, 1889
"I've looked most attentively at your works since we parted; first at your brother's and then at the Independents exhibition. I offer you my sincere compliments, and for many artists you are the most remarkable in the exhibition. With things from nature you are the only one there who thinks."
Letter to van Gogh from artist Paul Gauguin, Paris, March 20, 1890

I wished there was more on the autiotapes talking about some of the other paintings. I would have liked to have herd more. Also I wished there was more viraety and liveliness. It all seemed the same which can be boring. Other than that it was good.

We thought this was a great exhibition and were amazed at the nature details in the paintings. We had never seen any of his undergrowth paintings before and were particularly impressed by them. Thanks for organizing it.

It's a very good show, but it does seem that 85% of these shows feature impressionism. How about some variety.

Really enjoyed it especially how they told the story of his life, but they could have included more about his death and hows his paintings might reflect his childhood

It's amazing the difference between poster and real and up close. The paintings are 3-D like. It was really great!!!

I really liked Van Gogh in the first place. So during spring break i wanted to come. It was really neat and I enjoyed it a lot!! Though, some of the pictures I had already seen from school in art, but even so it was really cool!!
