"In arranging my new apartment I see your paintings again with so much pleasure.... There's such a note of truth, of real countryside in each one."
Letter to van Gogh from his brother Theo, Paris, March 16, 1889
"I've looked most attentively at your works since we parted; first at your brother's and then at the Independents exhibition. I offer you my sincere compliments, and for many artists you are the most remarkable in the exhibition. With things from nature you are the only one there who thinks."
Letter to van Gogh from artist Paul Gauguin, Paris, March 20, 1890

Wow!! The exhibit was amazing. In 4th grade we did a take on Van Gogh's Starry Night. His paintings are so cool and it is really neat to see them all up close. He is really good with sunflowers and I always enjoy it when I see one of his many different paintings!

I loved the Almond Blossoms!! They were so bright and colorful. It didn't seem much like Van Gogh. I thought it was very nice of him to paint a picture for his nephew. I would hang that picture in my room! I also liked the one that had a village in the background. My favorites are usually the colorful ones! Van Gogh is AWESOME!
