"In arranging my new apartment I see your paintings again with so much pleasure.... There's such a note of truth, of real countryside in each one."
Letter to van Gogh from his brother Theo, Paris, March 16, 1889
"I've looked most attentively at your works since we parted; first at your brother's and then at the Independents exhibition. I offer you my sincere compliments, and for many artists you are the most remarkable in the exhibition. With things from nature you are the only one there who thinks."
Letter to van Gogh from artist Paul Gauguin, Paris, March 20, 1890

I trylu enjoyed this exhibit. It showed a collection from the artist I hadn't seen. He had a very close relationship with nature that I felt was sincere. I was glad to be able to be a part of this show.

Fabulous collection and it was nice to see some items that were not available years ago at an earlier Van Vagh traveling collection

I feel this exhibit truly captured a point in van Gogh's life that was left to speculation and unfortunately was also a time of darkness for him. To learn about his love for nature and plants in general really inspired me and sort of resembled my own problems with life and how nature has always comforted me. Thank you for this generous moment with Vincent. :)
