"In arranging my new apartment I see your paintings again with so much pleasure.... There's such a note of truth, of real countryside in each one."
Letter to van Gogh from his brother Theo, Paris, March 16, 1889
"I've looked most attentively at your works since we parted; first at your brother's and then at the Independents exhibition. I offer you my sincere compliments, and for many artists you are the most remarkable in the exhibition. With things from nature you are the only one there who thinks."
Letter to van Gogh from artist Paul Gauguin, Paris, March 20, 1890

This was an amazing exhibit - brought tears to my eyes how beautiful the work was and how amazingly different it was depending on the angle or distance you viewed and how the story of his life really opened your eyes to what was going on inside his head and being transferred into a work of art

It was really amazing how the collaboration of colors and life and nature was put into there and squeezed together into a painting. When all those colors I saw went together it made a story in my mind how Vincent Van Gogh had a stomach wound, loved flowers, it was just amazing... very amazing.

I believe these refined pieces of art speak volumes on the psychological state of mr. van gogh and my own. Indubiously
