Join us for performances of Surrealist poetry, literature, manifestos, and music. Let loose by the unconscious mind and put in the service of radical conviction, the written word was a vital medium of Surrealism. Poets Kenneth Goldsmith and Tracie Morris will bring historic Surrealist texts to life in English translations. Composer and experimental turntablist Marina Rosenfeld will contribute a musical performance applying surrealist techniques to historic recordings. This program is supported by the Center for American Art at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
