Sponsorship

Sponsoring an exhibition, education program or event allows companies to meaningfully partner with the museum on a program or initiative that speaks to their philanthropic and/or business goals. This financial support enables the museum to continue creating world-class programming while sponsors receive branding on marketing materials, access to the museum and/or sponsored event, and entertaining opportunities for their employees and clients.

Exhibitions

Our special exhibitions make Philadelphia an international destination for the arts. With numerous exhibitions mounted each year spanning from Arms and Armor to Modern and Contemporary Art, there is something for everyone. Exhibition sponsorship offers a ready-made entertaining opportunity for a sponsor’s employees or clients via private tours and events. Sponsors are also able to network with our vast donor base at exhibition-related events and promote their brand to the museum community through recognition on promotional materials.

Educational Programs

The museum is the leading source of arts education opportunities in the Philadelphia region. Our programming is geared toward families, K-12 students, teachers, and adults. In addition to providing free on-site and virtual programming to all School District of Philadelphia students, we offer dedicated programs for middle-schoolers and teens as well as year-round family art-making activities. We also host artist talks, live performances, and evening programming for our adult visitors.

Corporate sponsorship of an education program helps offset these costs and allows us to expand our reach into the community. We offer sponsorship crediting on education materials and access to the programs when possible.

Annual Events

The museum hosts several annual events, some of which are geared toward donors and collectors while others are public-facing with a broader reach. Sponsorship of these events allows a company to get involved at the museum with a focus on networking and entertaining. There are typically a number of sponsorship levels for events, making them an ideal point of entry for a company engaging with the museum for the first time.

Corporate Partners Program

The museum’s annual membership program, Corporate Partners, consists of a distinguished roster of companies, ranging from local firms to international corporations, all dedicated to bolstering our city’s economy, inspiring creativity, and strengthening the museum’s cultural impact. Funds generated by the program provide critical unrestricted operating support, advancing the work of curators, educators, conservators, and all of the exceptional staff who bring the institution to life.

Each membership level offers exclusive benefits, which can include participation on the Corporate Executive Board, complimentary general admission, guided tours, networking opportunities with fellow business leaders and museum leadership and staff, entertaining discounts, and much more.

Pennsylvania EITC

The Philadelphia Museum of Art is an approved Educational Improvement Organization (EIO) through the Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC), which allows participating corporations to make designated contributions that are eligible for tax credit from the state of Pennsylvania.

A contribution to the museum through the EITC program can receive up to 75% of the gift total as a tax credit in the first year and up to 90% of the gift total in the second year. Your $15,000 gift could result in a credit as high as $13,500. The contribution may also be deducted for federal tax purposes.

EITC gifts support our School and Teacher programs, which are offered both on-site at the museum and virtually for K–12 students and teachers. Companies that make gifts through the EITC program receive recognition for their support on applicable School and Teacher program materials.
