Wish List
The Museum welcomes--and deeply appreciates--gifts of any size. The following wish list, developed by Museum curators, educators, and conservators, describes giving opportunities that will fulfill specific, immediate needs at the Museum. Gifts to fund items on the wish list may be made with cash or stock, through a pledge, or online. - Enable two fourth grade classes from Philadelphia public schools to participate in Art Speaks, a museum visit program linking visual arts and language arts. Your gift will cover the costs of admission, bussing and materials.
A gift of $1,000 will:
- Support an artist residency at a local community center, bringing art to children and adults in urban neighborhoods.
- Support four in-school teacher workshops in Philadelphia public schools, where teachers learn how to connect museum objects with their classroom curricula.
A gift of $1,500 will:
- Fund an Accessible Arts Workshop for a group of adults with cognitive or communication impairments. Each workshop includes a one-hour tour in the Museum's galleries and a two-hour studio class.
A gift of $2,500 will:
- Support the online publication of 160 objects from the Museum's collection as part of the Museum's Digital Age Initiative. Your gift will enable the Museum to produce high-quality photography of each object, verify and expand information on each object, and support the production of educational and interpretive tools such as cell phone and antenna audio stops and podcasts.
A gift of $3,000 will:
- Fund the purchase of nine new wheelchairs for use by Museum visitors.
- Purchase a flat-bed scanner for the Museum's Paper Conservation Lab.
A gift of $5,000 will:
- Fund free admission for 1,000 Philadelphia public schoolchildren to visit the Museum with their classes.
- Fund travel costs to bring 20 Philadelphia Head Start preschool classes to the Museum for a visit.
- Sponsor an artist's participation in public events connected to the Live Cinema series of exhibitions in the Museum's video gallery.
A gift of $8,000 will:
- Sponsor one of the Museum's popular Family Days, in which parents and children learn about art together while celebrating diverse cultures.
