What do you do?
I'm studying in my fourth year at the Faculty of Fine Art in Chiang Mai University. My major is painting.

What kind of art work do you make?
I'm interested in contemporary art. I am not limited to one technique. I do everything that I want to do.

Can you tell us something about your background?
I was born in Chiang Mai. I spent my life in Chiang Mai, too. I've also studied in Chiang Mai since I was young. Sometimes I think my life is quite boring, because life is moving slowly, but Chiang Mai has many local traditions, beautiful places, and good atmosphere.

I have one brother and one sister. I'm the youngest. My father is an artist. My mother operates a guest house. My father supports me to study art. I think he wants me to be an artist, too.

Why do you want to be an artist?
I think it's very difficult to tell. Maybe it starts from my father--that he wants me to study art. But in high school I never learned art, so I only learned the basics. Then I entered at the Faculty of Fine Art, Chiang Mai University. I don't think that I'm an artist yet. I am just a fine art student. I think art helps me to know myself better.

How do you feel about traveling across America?
I think it's quite exciting for me, because I have never been there before.

What are your expectations?
I would like to know differences between Thai culture and American culture because I heard that America is a country many people have moved to, so I can meet many kinds of people to exchange our ideas. I would like to know how they think about Thailand.

Furthermore, I would like to know about my feelings while I'm far away from home. In the future I hope to have the opportunity to further my studies, and would like to prepare myself for that.

What do you expect to learn from this trip?
I hope that I can find new topics for my work.
