This sub-suberies contains material pertaining to the renovation of Gunston Hall, the home of George Mason, author of the Virginia Declaration of Rights, which was constructed circa 1755-1760 in the Georgian style. Kimball completed the restoration in conjunction with his partner Erling H. Pedersen. Correspondence with the Board of Regents of Gunston Hall pertains to Kimball's contract as architectural advisor and his recommendations for the building's restoration. Research material documents the building's history.
Note that on April 16, 1973, the Philadelphia Museum of Art transferred the majority of papers pertaining to this project to the Board of Regents of Gunston Hall.
