This book was to be a collection of nine or possibly ten articles, seven of which had been published previously in various periodicals from the years 1916 to 1918. The articles represent an eclectic group of topics, tied together only by their relevance to early American art and architecture. Kimball had planned on submitting the completed manuscript in 1920, however this book was never published.
